Employment
For over a century, our core belief has stayed the same: quick, safe initial attack saves lives, property, and forests. If you’re looking for a career that’s exciting, meaningful, and makes a difference, wildfire supression might be your calling. At C-PTPA, you’ll learn, grow, and become a part of a proud history of protecting Idaho’s forests.

Fire Suppression
Association Employees meet or exceed the state of Idaho and National Wildland Fire Coordinating Group qualification standards. During peak fire season, daily aerial patrols are conducted using Association-owned aircraft. Crews are able to respond efficiently from one of our three duty stations, often utilizing our contracted light helicopter.
Hazard Management
The Association works with it's landowners to reduce the hazard created from timber harvest. Prescribed burning, both broadcast and piled, reduces the potential for future fire growth. this, in effect, promotes a more sustainable forest.

Protecting Idaho's Timber Since 1905
The Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protective Association offers full-time and seasonal work for all aspects of fire suppression and hazard management. Applications for Fire Fighter Type 2 (Entry-level fire crew) are accepted continuously. Although accepted year-round, applications need to be submitted in late winter to be considered for the following fire season.
